Christmas Gift Guide for Cigar Smokers

Whether you like it or not, the festive season is on fast approach and although you don’t have to agree with us, now is the ideal time of year to start planning and purchasing Christmas gifts. Amongst your list of people to buy for, there may be someone who is a lover of the leaf themselves.
However if you yourself are not a smoker or perhaps are new to smoking, purchasing cigars for someone else can be intimidating and confusing. Fear not, as the cigar smoking crowd aren’t necessarily difficult to buy for. Below we have provided a guide on which gifts would be perfect for the cigar smokers on your list.
1. Many online tobacconists sell cigars as singles, but also as boxes. Although this is a great gift idea, only opt for this gift idea if you are certain the recipient of the gift likes to particular cigar you have chosen for them. Whether it is Cuban, Dominican or Honduran cigars, everybody’s palette is different.

Whether it is Cuban, Dominican or Honduran cigars, everybody’s palette is different.
2. We all have a favourite, but for some you may have multiple favourites. If you know someone who doesn’t have a particular preference and likes variety, samplers are the best way forward. If you buy a sampler of ten different cigars, to a cigar enthusiast this is essentially like giving ten different gifts.
3. A cigar smoker isn’t always looking for a cigar to smoke, but to also build up their ‘kit’. Cigar accessories are a nice alternative and there is a vast range of accessories available to choose from including humidors, cutters, zippo lighters and much more. You can opt for standard ones, but you can also go that extra mile and get them personalised.
4. Some cigar smokers enjoy visiting indoor lounges where they can light up without fear of temperature, wind or precipitation. You can always look at booking tickets to an members-only indoor lounge that is local to them or perhaps buy them a monthly pass, or even an annual pass!
5. Consider what works well with a cigar….coffee, wine, rum and scotch. If you think the person you are buying for has enough cigars or you are truly baffled as to which type of cigar you should buy them, opt for buying them a bottle of alcohol to pair it with.
