A Cigar & its Most Necessary Accessory
Cigar cases are another accessory that is normally needed by the typical cigar user, in order to transport cigars without them being crushed or broken. These come in a variety of different styles and shapes for different purposes, whether carrying only one cigar, or many. ‘Cigar travel cases’ are used in order to protect cigars from the elements, and to avoid any crushing while you carry them around in your pocket, these are usually made from either expandable or sturdy leather.
They should be thick enough in order to protect the cigars, while at the same time not having a leathery smell that could taint the taste of the cigar. Some of these cases can come with things like cardboard of metal tubes that add additional protection and prevent the cigar from becoming permeated with the leather. Aside from leather, these travel cases can also come in brass, silver and wood. These can be anything from moderately priced to expensive hand crafted cases.
Another type of case is a ‘cigar tube’, which are used to carry small number of cigars, such as one to five, depending on how many it can fit in it is called a ‘finger tube’ so for example a tube which can house one cigar is called a ‘one finger tube’ and for five cigars a ‘five finger tube’. These are predominately made from stainless steel. Cigar tubes are usually used when the cigar is out for a few hours, but if it is the case that they have to spend extended periods of time within the case, there are some with a built in humidifier and hydrometer to keep conditions sustainable.
Finally there are also ‘cigar holders’; these can also be known as cigar stands and are used to keep cigars out of the ashtrays. Cigar holders may also refer to a tube which the cigar is within while it is smoked, and are mainly used by women, over men.
